Live in Canada, Live in Winnipeg

Living in a large city in the midst of nature? It is possible in Winnipeg. With Canada becoming a Mecca for people looking for a place where they can live a better life, Winnipeg is one of the best places to go.

Immigration to Winnipeg – What You Need To Know

This largest city of Manitoba is nestled between bodies of water and lush plant life. The entire area is a flat terrain between the Red River and the Assiniboine River. It is so flat that people often tell stories of seeing a horse run straight for three days and still be visible in the horizon.

The borders of the city of Winnipeg are tall grass prairies (to the west and south of the city), and aspen parkland (to the northeast). However, most of these prairie grasses were removed to pave way for urbanization and agriculture. Winnipeg is also close to many bodies of water- to Lake Winnipeg and to most of the Canadian Shield lakes. Lake Winnipeg is the considered as the 11th largest freshwater lake in the world. Along its shores are the Grand Beach and the Winnipeg Beach, which have white sands that tropical beaches are better known for, and are only within short driving distance from the city. Aside from the two rivers where the city is located, Winnipeg also has the La Salle River and the Seine River flowing through it. In North America, Winnipeg has the largest mature elm forest located in an urban area.

The Winnipeg city earned the names “Winterpeg”, “Waterpeg”, and “Windypeg” for its climate and weather patterns. Winters are cold and dry, like most of Canada. The snow would often last for six months in a year, despite the city enjoying a four-season climate. In some years, winters can reach as cold as -40˚C (-40˚F). There is also a short transitional period between summer and winter. Summers are generally hot, typically with several thunderstorms. Spring and autumn are pleasant times, with better temperatures to allow walks by the river walkway beside The Forks or along the many lakes and parks.

The city is prone to flooding because of its nearness to several bodies of water, the extremely flat terrain and the amount of annual rainfall. Floods were so devastating in the past, which prompted the city to build a flood control system. In addition, Winnipeg is believed to be in North America’s windiest corner.

Policies and Requirements on Immigration to Winnipeg

The wonderful city and the pristine nature in Winnipeg is so attractive, but how to apply to live and work here? A few things should be understood.

When a person wants to migrate toWinnipeg, and in other Canadian provinces for that matter, an application has to be made. Applying for an immigrant visa will give the applicant a permanent resident status. After a few years of having a permanent resident status, an application for a citizenship can be made. Applying for permanent residency can be as a skilled worker, as an entrepreneur or investor, as a nominee of one of the Canadian provinces, as a sponsored family member, or as a political refugee. In any of these categories, several papers are needed, mostly to prove net worth, background information, criminal records (if any) and medical history. Upon submission, these papers will be double-checked and deliberated upon, whether to be granted a visa or not.

Choose Canada: Why Deciding To Work In Canada Will Change Your Life

Being ambitious and wanting to experience a world outside the one you’re familiar with are traits that are admirable in every person. If you feel the same way, you must have considered building a life and working abroad at least once. This is perfectly normal as working in a different country may provide advantages and opportunities that you currently can’t get in your home country.

With all the countries in the world out there, which one should you consider? Before making a decision, you need to conduct thorough research. You’ll have to choose a country with enough work opportunities, good economic conditions, political stability, and even weather conditions that are right for you!

Not every economy is the same. While your home country might be going through a bit of an economic struggle, there are so many others that have growing labor markets. Canada is one of them. It has maintained its status as one of the world’s most preferred nations for both international businesses and foreign investments. If you have the skills and the credentials to match, you can thrive in Canada. There are so many able minds and bodies that don’t reach their full potential because their home country isn’t providing them the opportunities they need to grow.

The Current Labor Market
A very large number of employers in Canada are desperately in need of specialists in many different fields. There are very high standards when it comes to working conditions in Canada and most times, the salaries offered here exceed those of other similar countries. A prestigious financial magazine even named the nation as the best place in the world when it comes to job creation and business developments.
Compared to many other industrialized countries, Canada’s economy is continuing to do better and better. The economy keeps growing and performing well because of many advantages, like strong financial institutions, low costs of business and corporate tax rates, and a highly skilled and educated workforce among others.

Other Advantages To Getting Work In Canada
Aside from the great economy and the wide range of career opportunities, you can also further your education while working. The majority of universities are very open to foreign graduate students and this will be a great way to build your career abroad.

When you have already spent several years in Canada, you can get the chance to apply for dual citizenship. This is an important privilege that will be very useful to you and your family in the future. Your children will be able to get better education in a country that’s developed and stable. With a great healthcare system and a very safe environment, Canada remains one of the top choices for working immigrants. When you retire, you will get much more benefits when you get dual citizenship.

As mentioned above, the political stability in Canada is a strong reason to work there. Many countries are unsafe or unstable when it comes to their political situation. This is something that greatly affects a nation’s economy and jobavailability, so if you work in a country that’s politically stable, you will have much better job security in the long run.
